The title is deceptive, it might not make you wealthy wealthy, but will certainly help save you some hard earned cash :)
Last time I shared briefly on the top most golden rule of traveling - Travel light. I additionally requested you to pay a visit to money belt bearing in mind the primary golden rule. I do hope you did that & refined your current shopping list.
The 1st international holiday I ever took with the family was while I was Fourteen. The destination was India and this was way back in the late 80s. My dad was a military colonel & mom had a small chain of book shops. While father and mother began planning the actual vacation almost Six months in advance, we read about the places we'd check out every day. The second golden rule for holiday travel is you got it - Plan in Advance!
My dad organized everything with mom using his military accuracy, checklists were created, duties were allotted to me & my sister (who was elder by Three years) Six months before we were to travel. We had 3 lists
Common checklist - Where all the stuff that everyone would require and use was detailed (tooth paste, nail clippers and so on)
Emergency Checklist - In which prescription medicines, emergency phone numbers etc were detailed
Individual Checklist - Where our own individual things that we'd like to carry were outlined (boy! this list ended up being huge!!!)
And then there were the duties checklist. Dad would book flights, visa, authorization for him to travel (he was serving then), Mom would take care of the prescription medicines, doctor visits, clothes, I & my sister were instructed to read about places we would have liked to visit. All Emily wanted to do was see snake charmers and princes (hahah!!), me I wanted to look at the Mount Everest and ride elephants. We were so far removed from reality (well to some extent far!)
The point I'm trying to make here is, in case you are traveling internationally on a family vacation, plan as early as possible. Write every little thing down in 2-3 lists and then start weeding things that are non-essential. I am sure you do not need to carry Five different types of moisturiser. You will need a sunblock and a moisturizing lotion.
We're assigned just two bags; I had a duffel plus a small back pack. Planning this early, resulted us in completing all of our vacation requirements & bags buying at the time of sales. By doing this I reckon that we saved nearly 50% of the cost we'd have paid for had we waited till the last second. So now you understand why I sent you to money belts
This website is focused on travel needs and is also my current favourite. Within a thirty day period I have saved close to $700 on back packs as well as other vacation need items.
Getting back lets summarize the two travel rules we have learnt up to now
Plan in Advance
& save money where ever you can! Until the next one, dream of your forthcoming getaway!
